Bittersweet Tragedy

I had a dream nights ago in a place consumed by darkness.

I remember standing in the spring field,

Stroking my arm to feel the warmth that my skin was giving off.

It was peaceful.

Not another human being around, nor any distraction.

Occasionally, the call of the mockingbird and the whistle of the cicada in the distance would erupt

But it was never something to complain about.

I could remember the soft breeze gently rocking my hair, making it dance as if it was dancing in a ballroom with a partner.

Suddenly, the sky had turned grey. It was as if God had shunned us and took away the light to let the dark consume us.

The warm, spring day had turned into the temperature of the chilly autumn night.

The creatures that once sang in melody had all silenced and the darkness consumed the land.

This bittersweet mind of mine, please just sing me to sleep.

Let your lullaby take me away into a different place.

Show me my faults and my wrong doings, torment me with your never ending terror but tell me why I feel this way.

A night without feeling trapped in a tragedy would be one night that is foreign to me,

One that would allow me to take a break from being left restless.

You are comparable to a sour and salty substance that sits in the corners of my mind,

Waiting for the correct time to strike me, leaving me with this familiar stinging feeling.

Everyone I have told mocks me about the flowers.

Unrequited love, a childish feeling and not worth risking my life, but I know fate is going to bring the past once more

The endless cycle, the cursed cycle,

It shall never end.

All things will follow the past, and as in the past, I will be hurt to recover and become strong, unless I do not recover this time.
