Black

Beautiful like the dawn and the sunset too Precious like a rose and each day I am renewed Skin soft, rough, scarred, or bumpy too It doesn't matter, it's cool 'cause I am black and I like myself like that Tone light, dark, or medium roast, God has made me what I am and I trust him because he knows Hair curly, straight, relaxed, blonde, or streaked with blue I will never stop to be like you 'cause I am black and I like myself like that I might or might not be able to sing, dance, or draw wonderful works of art but there's no limit to what I can do Smart, intellectual, calm and cool Powerful, strong, and confident too I know I do my best and embrace everything I do Nails can be accrylic or natural, and my lip gloss on too I never lose sight that I came to win and to not lose God has brought me thus far, and it is for him I live too I may start out at the bottom but I can rise, See 'cause that choice is all mine My lips might be big, forehead, ears too but it's okay Because I am a black woman and God loves me just... like... that. -Taylor M.
