Black

I am black.

No, I am brown.

The color that seems to make many cringe and frown when they face it.

And, no not all white people are racist.

But, I deal with descrimination on an every day basis.

I am  black, wait no, brown female.

No, I don't have an attitude issue.

Yes, I know who my father is.

I get these stereotypes on an everday basis.

I am black, no brown, with thick hair.

With a slightly larger derriere, and hips that slice the air.

But, please do not stare.

I am brown,

with a heart like gold, and an education to kill for.

Black is just a word, not something that means any more.

I have grown to except, my nature tone.

I am brown, not black.
