Black and Blue

Today I'm feeling black and blue.

I seem to be feeling that a lot these days.

A harsh remedy for a bitter past.

My head is the Sun:

A glaring, blinding light

Vehement in its stew,

A passionate irritation,

I want to be happy

But I'm constantly reminded

That happiness is a journey,

Not a destination.

Well, if it really is the journey that matters,

Then I will buy myself a train ticket

Or a full tank of gas.

The world is an open road

And I cannot wait to explore every inch.
