Black and Blue

Colors like black and blue describe what I’ve become

Maybe it’s from sadness beating me like a drum

Spending several years trying to understand

When the world gets too dark for me to see my hand

Should I close my eyes and hide from the reality?

Or should I fight against it with lethality?

I'm a High school senior that loves poetry and the way poetry can alter perspectives. I write more than just poetry and the poems posted by me on this forum differ based on the emotion being expressed while writing the piece.
