Black and blue Carrie
Black and blue Carrie "DAMN she's so ugly!"
They would laugh at this.
Black and blue Carrie "CAN'T EVEN SEE YOU WITH THE LIGHTS OFF!"
They'd scream.
And the girls would titter as the boys would jitter and concoct new jokes to throw at her.
But the little lady who they called "black and blue". Was on the edge.
She went home and cried every night to a pillow because her parents everyday were never in sight.
Or they were downstairs without care. Puffing the stench of pot in the air.
Black and blue Carrie was the only name she knew.
Since she was five.
She was only liked by one guy who pried her of her innocence and left her to dry her tears on her own.
She believed she was ugly. She believed she'd never be loved. Because her skin was so black and blue.
Since five to 16 black and blue Carrie was the only name she ever knew.
She would slit her little wrists and cover them up in a hurry.
But for what?
Mama ain't care. Dad would never worry.
And no one wanted to be friends with Black and Blue Carrie cause she was just so damn "ugly".
Carrie was the on the edge.
That Friday must have been the last straw.
Cause Carrie ain't come to class that Monday.
She had enough and black and blue Carrie was now part of the black and blue waters.
