Black and white

I never looked at anything as black and white,

but looking back in time, it gives me a fright

how once a marriage of black and white

could never be one, and unite

all our lives we had to fight

and all our lives we had to give up our rights

we had to use all our might

just because black and whites could not marry,

was not alright

we were hated and had so much spite

because we just wanted to make things right
