Black and White
If we could live without filters
The world would go mad.
In a way, I already live without filters.
Granted, I act civilized and accordingly
I know how to act in tough social situations
However, I'm the type of guy who likes to speak what's on his mind
If I see a movie I really like, I won't just shrug and say, "It was good"
No, I'll run out of that cinema screaming and flailing my arms about
If I sit down to one of the best meals I've had in years,
I won't just shrug and say, "It was good"
No, I'll stand atop the dining table and sing an opera
If I see a friend of mine who dyed her hair purple,
I won't just shrug and say, "It doesn't look too good."
No, I'll rush her to the nearest salon to get it redone
The world is filled with colorful people
With their purple, yellow, green, red-like faces
And the world is filled with stoics
People who blotch their faces with black and white
If the world was filled with unfiltered people like me
We would all go mad,
telling our friends that their purple-dyed hair looks horrible
Plus, the world is like a painting, begging to be filled with colors,
But too much color and you end up with something that looks like
rainbow vomit.
So I bleach my face black and white,
Just so that we don't all go mad,
Telling our friends that their purple-dyed hair looks horrible.
