Black and White

Black and White

Mixed

Told we are to black for the white kids

and to white for the black kids

Never fitting in

Always standing out

My mom asks me "Do you like being mixed?"

It hurts when she says it

But then again some people view me as a question

A riddle never being sloved

A puzzle who doesn't have all her pieces

because I don't have the same face as

You and your brother or you and your sister

I get questions about my heritage

But you talk so white

You arent black

How does that figure?

Because I don't listen to rap

or call my friends nigger

I'm Done trying to fit in

                                               I'm Here for a reason

My parents love me that I believe in

                                              I found all my answers

                                              Found all my pieces

                                             I'll solve my own riddle

I don't have to listen to

what he says or she say we aren't all equal

and sadly I don't think we will ever be

Until that day, I'll just be

                                                        ME.
