Black and White

Trouble is among us. An over-collection of discriminate dust. It drives us away To a pint where we cannot stay As a group of collaborative states. There's no way. No one will reach across To find what we have lost. It's common sense. That's the cost. In which ignorance, Our foul enemy, Secludes us like Marlin in his sea anenome. It's not healthy. Leaves bats in our belfries. It's not so black and white. Sometimes there's a gray area, And sometimes nothing's right. This discrimination dissolves hits all of us. It's there to dissolve trust. No one is safe, And no one is to blame. For this ignorant strafe, It's the whole of us that should be ashamed. Yes, white men have been cruel to black men, But getting back at the entirety of white men? That's a bad omen. When we get discriminated against, our tendency is to fight back. However, that's not the right track. Because, as Martin Luther King Junior said, "Let us not satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of of bitterness and hatred." He took those ideas to his death bed. We quote his speech everyday, But the time to quote this line has seen some delay. So, if you're going to listen to someone, Listen all the way. No matter what they say, You'll use their perspective some other day. It's not healthy. Leaves bats in our belfries. It's not so black and white. Sometimes there's a gray area, And sometimes nothing's right. And I know! It's hard to listen. Especially to someone who's mind is missin', But you should do so anyway. The information you gather might come into play. For your argument, It's based on the allotment Of facts generated by your opponent. And before you know it, You can't blow it, Because you argued through their perspective, To give them a new directive. Or, Upon reflection, You've faced their direction, To find an agreement As a whole new achievement. It's not healthy. Leaves bats in our belfries. It's not so black and white. Sometimes there's a gray area, And sometimes nothing's right.
