A Black Boys Memoir

Dear Donald,

They’re gonna call me a baby with a baba, I said.

I knew not what would be ahead.

The melanin in my skin,

Is truly not a sin.

Holmdel calls me NIGGER,

But I’m afraid of the police's gun trigger

This racism,

Has me on the wrong side of your fascism.

Two girls with parents who hated me,

Being drowned in the dead sea.

They tell me I can be friends with their daughter,

Or else it’ll be manslaughter.

A young afro-american teenager,

Scared shitless to make that wager.

This isn’t fucking Romeo and Juliet,

Cause in my heart lies the bayonet.

You won't listen to my appeal,

So you’ve forced me to kneel.

I am tired of this monologue of chains.

Open your mind up to a dialogue of brains.

Thank you, Brycen
