Black Furred Mut

Dear Blue,

though you spend our life in the backyard,

you are always stuck in my mind like glue,

though you say at home, we know all you want to do is play hard.

You're our first dog and our only,

we wouldn't change you for the world,

even though you refuse to eat baloney,

and if you accidentally get out, you know we will be concerned.

Sleepy, hungry, black furred mut.

 I can't imagine a day without you,

even though I hate when you sniff your butt,

and ate all my shoes.

I promise to always throw the ball.

Just promise to always come back when I call.
