Black Garden

Why do you fear me so child? Huddled up in a corner like a rat

This is the first time we've personally met, yet you despise and refuse me

Am I so terrifying that I make you, a grown man, cry like an infant

Go ahead scream all you want, no one shall hear you

You are alone here with me until you accept the truth

I am the ugly truth while your memories are just a beautiful lie

You're past title holds no ground here, names are pointless

You are only another face in my ever growing flower bed

You may not have a body but staying here will only make you rot

Do you stay because you miss being alive?

I have another question for you

What would happen if humans became immortal?

My flowers and I would wither and die

In this way we are similar, we fear the power of what might be

Do you finally accept me, may we leave now?

Come, I will show you my Black Garden.
