Black girl

It’s not the color of your skin

the texture of your hair

the size of your butt

the spread of your thighs

that defines you.

It’s the way you stand up tall

The confidence in your talk

That makes people grow towards you.

Each individual sees different

But what do you see?

I see me and you the same color on the out

But very different inside.

I wouldn’t define myself as a “black girl”

Which is just a color.

I would define myself as Me

And you as you

We are together as one

But our personalities are two

Different things.
