black girl

black girl

that's what you see on the outside

but take a moment

you don't know me

you don't want to know me

black girl

I'm done being put in that box

don't call me African American because that's not me

my physical appearance can't define me

why cant I be the smart one

instead you continue to call me

black girl

don't get me wrong I'm proud to be black

but why does that say who I am

black girl

set to never reach the highest expectations

defined by babymamas drama

so black girl?

yes

but just a black girl?

not by any means!

I am also an educated girl

I am also a sincere girl

I am also an ambitious girl

set to reach her goals
