BLACK GIRL MAGIC

You're very beautiful ,

My aunt tells me ,

There is a twinkle in her eye

As she says , Black is beautiful !

I'm a poet , a fighter , a survivor ,

Like my goddad and uncle before me ,

I'm an activist .

My skin is dark as coal ,

My eyes are dark brown ,

I'm curious

And brave

And determined .

The future belongs to me .

I'm a poet ,

I've got Black girl magic .
