Black Lives Matter
BLACK LIVES MATTER! BLACK LIVES MATTER!
My brotha, my sista we come together in these streets to mourn the loss of fallen love ones.
To prove our point that we are here and our lives do matter.
We deserve equality,
but we DEMAND justice.
"I cant breathe, I cant breathe!" Then there lies the body of Michael Brown.
We cant even go to a liquor store for snacks without "endangering" the lives of others,
so now there lies our youth, Treyvon Martin.
My brotha, my sista we have had black kings and queens take a stand and die for our rights.
My brotha, my sista let us take a second and think,
really ask yourselves.
Do black lives really matter if we are gunning one another down in the streets
because of the color of our shoelaces and different beliefs.
Do black lives really matter when its a black life in a blue suit?
Fuck the police!
Thats what we say right?
As a community our priorities are fucked up.
We sit here hollering
BLACK LIVES MATTER!
But put perimeters around what that really means.
Sitting here yelling
BLACK LIVES MATTER!
But don’t want to be the next Martin Luther King or Malcolm X.
We can’t demand justice when we are showing them that our lives don’t matter to ourselves.
Our sons and daughters watching us and looking up to us
but are we really setting a good example,
are we really teaching them that they are kings and queens who lives matter?
My brother my sister ask yourselves
Do black lives really matter...
