Black Lives Matter

Why do I cry  ? I cry because there are people my color dying every night.

I cry because we strive for peace yet get pushed left and right.

We black people mean something and y’all know that is true

So why did a woman die for something she didn’t do  .

Ms. Breonna Taylor beautiful wasn’t she and we all know the truth.

The no knock warrant that affected all but her youth.

George Floyd as they say kind as can be .

Was killed unmercifully with only a knee.

Ahmaud Arbery loved by his family and loved by friends.

Was killed with no sense, no depth, no end.

Tamir Rice was only 12 when he died.

Was given no justice, nor peace, and we watched his family cry.

Ezell Gurley used as an object to save someone’s career.

Yet when the truth came out it seemed like no one could hear.

Philando Castile's death hurt us the most at that time.

Killed in front of his daughter we still wonder why.

The name…..Walter Scott

The only one who got justice, did he not ?

Terence Crutcher on the road needing a little bit of help.

Left with a bullet in his lung and nobody but himself.

They all have something in common we can’t deny.

Their lives were taken by someone who was supposed to protect them at all times.

Now we have to keep their names alive.
