a black man world
i'm two years post 16 and still unidentified(ID'd)
mom is working three eight-hour shifts for shit's that's solidified(sold off reach)
now sis, three years post-grad and still out of sorts(unemployed)
no i ain't mad or angry
pardon the cursing
i just think it's really fucked up you don't even care how we faring
how we standing mile long queues to get passports
four more days to exit this shithole
better not mention the loopholes
better not say nothing, we outlaws
better not...
best be grateful we got livelihoods
no bother it's open stalls selling tomatoes
playing cat and mouse with dirty, lazy cops on patrol
got a dime, bribe yourself out, no parole
notice the flow
that's cause we got no dearth of rows
yet we sitting here still wondering how we got a deal so raw
how this world gonna act like it ain't our own
being treated like slaves like we ain't got a home
out there who feels the same? I know that i ain't alone
but nigga still out there pretty faced, smiling
no he ain't got no job
matter of fact his life merely a joke
though not so much when he think of his knocked up bitch a few weeks due (pass me a joint)
fancy P.h.ds ain't getting him no P.P.V's no paychecks (a sniff of glue)
old man out there dying of cancer, no healthcare centre (crystal meth this time)
so what nigga gon do?
about the rents that are due
we all fighting a demon, ain't that nothing new
he ain't learnt to deal with all this shit
and nigga ain't looking toward a shift
he just done buried it under deeper shit
he high on the stuff you call opium
he high on the kind of heavy things that keep beasts comatose
damn nigga even high on shit that's supposed to be medicating him
they tell us that's just a black man world
how we gon be heard
when those above keep trampling over our word
yet we are praying like God why don't you take heed
why do you seem unfazed
about how your world has become so rotten and diseased
