Black in the Matrix
You took a life from me
You took a life from us
They took a life from me
They took a life from us
"I took out the trash woman"
"He's but a stranger crazy."
My blood boils viciously
And I watch the world adjust
To utter madness
And the tears slowly dry up
Each tragedy becomes a pill
Trying to stop the inevitable
As my body dies slowly
So does my horror
And everyone will continue on living
But they are walking slowly and content
and only a few look in aw
Unsettled, Bitter, and Angry.
