Black Monday

Delving deep

Tar black, so dark I can’t see clear

All the memories, past and present

Mingle inextricably yet fighting one another to gain hold

To love or to not

Rise up or jump straight into the abyss

2 choices, A and B

Simple yet complicated

Took a deep breath

In and out, In and out

That’s what they told me on the tv

It works, but still

My chest tight, burns

I can feel the searing pain, right here

In the middle of 2 peaks that is my breast

So real, yet invisible to the eye of the beholden

A sound muffled within

Yet, my vocal cords are trembling

I took a deep breath

1 time, 2 times, 3 times

Slowly, the water works

Cascading like a waterfall

I can hear it now, that low, muted voice

Wrenching my gut

It drown me so deep

Sad yet alleviating

Strange yet familiar

Can I, stay?
