Black skin
Blessed is the body covered with a black gamet.
A black skin,
As dark as night,
Dripping melanin,
A skin that symbolizes beauty,
A skin that shows no stain,
A skin that faces the pattern of weather conditions.
Sun may look fierce and dangerous but it means no harm to my skin.
Why do they intend to defame your phenotype?
They shout words?
"mnyamane"!
Don't let them get under your skin.
Elevate your look,
You are beautiful just the way you are.
Beauty is only skin-deep.
Some say beauty is in the eye of the beholder,
I say black is beautiful.
I'm black without apology,
I shine brightly with no shame and
I'm completely truthful.
I'm comfortable with this black gamet,
I'm like a hurricane,when i come I'm loud.
I'm a storm,when i approach it gets darker.
When the sun rises i shine.
When the birds starts singing i shine.
I can't standstil.
I'm a black woman writer.
I'M DARK BUT NOT UGLY!
I'M A BLESSING BUT NOT A CURSE!
I'm dark but not different from any human living in this world.
I'm dark and lovely.
