The Black Teacher
The Black Teacher,
I’m not just a preacher,
I scream to the ignorance,
Their acceptance,
Is not existent,
These trouble kids haven’t learned their lesson
Maybe the color of my skin will persuade them,
The school district just doesn’t accept them,
How can we learn?
When there is hate envy and scorn,
How about we travel past the pigment of my skin,
Learn like we learn to lose and win,
They say I am an aggressive teacher,
But how am I to teach when I am profiled by an oppressor,
How can they learn when they have to remind themselves they are black with their mirror on their dressers?
They say a black man making it out of the hood is impossible,
Me and my brother did what didn’t seem logical,
Making it out the school every day was an obstacle,
How about I become their role model,
Living life is hard for any race but don’t ever let your failures be understandable,
We forget to that living life is what man is supposed to do,
These kids are my reflection,
Sometimes you have to yell to see their connection,
Where they from,
Is they dum,
Why they even come if they don’t come,
Pause is what they say cause that sounded weird,
If they understand that what will they hear?
I’m the teacher of this bad class,
But I’ll show them to take off their headphones and their black mask,
When there is no more black on black crimes,
That will be my sign,
Our race is a race of decisions,
I want to be the man that unites our visions,
Show the lost kids what they’ve been missing,
Instead of shooting we can be represented as love and kissing,
