The Blackened World
I find comfort
in the drowned world,
the blackened world,
and the solemn world.
I find comfort
in many worlds,
save for the world
at large.
I am an associate
an accomplice
an acquaintance,
child's hand gliding
over forbidden doorknob.
I have seen it
in all others,
either a glimmer
or all-consuming,
but always, it is there.
In future
we will share
this, bound,
me, us,
our world.
