Blair Holt

Location

A little to generous you could say

Jumped in front of a classmate about to be shot on the CTA

Leaving his family and friends with all the pain

Knowing Blair wouldn't be there to share the rest of his days

A missing piece of their family puzzle that can never be replaced

Just because someone thought it was their right to take it away

A little to generous you can say

Not to many people would do the same

Knowing they wouldn't live to see another day

Six feet under did it really have to be that way

I guess Blair just wanted to save the day

But was the day really saved

Blair's life was still taken away

A little too generous you can say

He was a honor roll student on his way

Could have been our next doctor to cure a disease taken millions away

Could have been our next black president working to make the world a better place

I guess he was in the wrong place at the wrong time

He was shot by a gang member fearing for his life
