Blazing a Trail

The sun goes down, Along with my dreams, It’s too dark now, I can no longer see. The path I was on, Illuminated by light Disappeared with the coming of night. I’m all alone, Roaming deeper into the woods, Past the oak trees until I lose the path I was on. This feels right, I think to myself, Trying something new-- It’s like blazing a trail. Someone has to do it, So I’ll be the first, To stand up for myself And to get what I deserve. I’ll chase after my dreams Even if it seems insane. If no one follows me, I’ll be okay. Deeper and deeper, Where no one else has gone. What will I discover? Who will I become?
