Bleeding Heart

I giggle while swinging back and forth from the tree branch

Among thousands of others just like me

Threading his feet through the dirt

The most nefarious grin you’ve ever seen plastered on one’s face

He places his books on top of the stone wall

As he reaches for my elegent petals, plucking me

Away

Away

Away

I lay in his dulcet hands

And listen to his mellifluous words

As i start to decay within his palms

His beautiful, beautiful palms

He drops me onto the dirt

Whilst he reaches for another bleeding heart.
