Bleeding Heart

IT burns, my heart, yet it does not hurt,

for it is sweet, beautiful love which spurns such a reaction.

Love so strong, so heavy, so enigmatic

it gives my body contractions.

I will admit this love is not constant,

but rather sporadic,

even so I am still an addict.

Love so great, even with my many mistakes,

still gives Me its time of day.

Oh, this love, which use to smother me,

I have seen it's true self,

and now it begins bother me.

I did not, could not, at first believe such a thing.

Yet, it seems Fate has deemed it so,

when these thoughts of mine would incessantly ring.

Along with the blows my heart would take,

I knew if I did not begin to protect myself;

my heart would break.

When by myself, everyday,

with gut wrenching sobs;

I would try send away this sea of pain.

Alas, to no avail,

were my cries of distress,

gone with no trace,

was my happiness.

Oh, with the love I once had,

I believe, we would succeed at anything.

Now my heart has begun to bleed,

at the touch of everything.

I've been given pain,

while my false love is given a reason to sing.

It is love which gave me such joy,

now my love has made my heart raw.

Even with this all I continue to fight,

I fight for tomorrow.

For I know, sometime, the Lord above,

will send my one True love.

I know, my soul mate will come overtime,

and stop this bleeding heart of mine.
