blended family

a happy duo we made

me young and free

you searching for love

the search blinded you

i was here the whole time screaming for your attention

it was of no use

happiness was no longer in my vocabulary

my name wasn't the only one you said with love dripping from your voice

our family grew

soon two became five

and we no longer were a duo

A house is not a home yet here we are in one

my screams are drowned by the sweet nothings whispered to you by a man

i wonder am i even visible to you anymore

i can't compete with man for i am only child and what do i know

nothing except for the smile i paint on everyday because it seems to make you happy

the smile begins to fade

it has been three years since the day my memories of a happy life died

three years of painting on a smile

three years of fighting to be seen and heard

three years of wanting to feel my mothers love once again

three years of being discarded to the side like a used object

i can't take this anymore it has to change

It does change I scream and I fight

I push back enough is enough I say

My bags are packed I am leaving I say

she begs and she pleads but My mind is made

I will be gone and My happiness will return

My true smile returns
