Blessed

I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you

From the harmful hands of life

I apologize for my lack of

Teaching you wrong from right

But I’m honored you still see me as perfect

After all the mistakes I have made

I am grateful for your endless forgiveness

And all the chances you gave

I’m sorry for the times I yelled at you

Or belittled you to make you feel less

I’d do anything for the opportunity

To finally clean up my mess

But instead I’m learning from the life I lived

Along with all the rest

Of the people that realized just a little too late

How much they were truly blessed
