Blessings

I grew up in Africa,

Mozambique,

I’m very unique,

By 2 I lost my Pa,

By 3 also my Ma.

I lived in an orphanage,

Till I don’t know what age,

Rice and beans was all we ate.

Everyday.

But to this day,

I look at life as it were May,

Bright and beautiful,

I try to be careful,

To not take it for granted.

I was integrated

Into an American family,

My wish for a family had been granted,

Finally.

Why are these blessings?

Because now I can help other families,

With my stories,

I can help change nations.
