Blind Love
One day I was walking around the city and I past a blind man with a beautiful young lady wrap around his arms. They were talking. I was wondering what the connection was between these two people. So I followed them to a sweet cafe and listen to what they said. They talk about life, love and happiness. They seem intone with each other even thought the blind look low middle class and the lady rich girl all over. I was drinking my chai tea and eating my muffin when I saw the man grab the women's hand and kiss her light tanned knuckles. I look at the way his eyes look intently into hers. Even if he was blind it's like he could practically see her. Then he said I love you. And the sweet young rich girl blushed. I was amazed when she said with the sweet honey comb voice of hers. Like delicacy of when the Greek gods eat elegant ambrosia nectar in the heavens. And hearing her say that made me think: Why was she saying this? Is it because she feels pity for the young blind man or true love in summer springs? Is it because she wants to make the man suffer more or bring forth a life that's grand but would still never see?
Then I thought change when they leaned in a kiss each other in harmony and gentle passionate love. So my new thoughts were: She loves him but how could she? Can't she see he is blind and see her wondrous beauty? Why does she love him when he has nothing to offer? But I finally realized what was happening. She did love him even with his flaws. She didn't care. I bet her parents did and maybe the whole world was against it but she didn't care. As long as she loved him that was all that matters. When I look away and drunk my chai tea then hesitated and wondered more things. Is love blind? Is it as pure as the earth core? Does it hurt or end in pain? I look at the star cross lovers and saw the girl kneel on one knee. She said how much she loved him and said the four special words that every body loves to hear: Will You Marry Me?
The young man was silent then smiled and yelled yes. Everybody including the couple cheered and became merry with happy joy. Except me. Couldn't imagine what happen but I could. Love is pure and blind. The beauty is not someone's of perfectness and wealth it's about loving a soul that matches or unmatched you. As I though I finished my chai tea and muffin and congratulated the couple and left the cafe. I paused and felt a pang of jealousy for the love the coupled shared and I didn't have. Will I ever have the happiness? Or will I be alone with seven cats like when I was teased about when I was little but instead of cats I'll have big bad beautiful dogs that love me dearly. I started to worry and notice that will happen to me. Until a young man accidentally bump into me and turned around and said sorry. I was about to say the same when I look into his eyes. And everything froze in place. I was lost in his eyes and started seeing images of me and him in his eyes of the future. I knew right then and there that I wasn't going to be alone with seven big beautiful bad dogs or be alone for the rest of my life. No he was going to take that out of my mind and replace it with love and kindness. Now I know what love felt because I feel in love with him in just one look. Love at first sight. It made me happy.
We stood there for awhile until we broke the trance. We said hi and ended up hanging with each other. I was content and happy at the moment and I could tell that he was too. I now know what love is. And I hope it never runs away from me.
