Blinded By Love

Why didn’t I just listen?

She knew something was wrong, but I was too blind to see

that the seductive monster I loved was not for me

She was closer to me than a sister.

Our blood couldn’t be any thicker.

Single and ready to mingle

We lived our lives to the fullest.

And there he was...

Tall, dark, and lovely with a dreamy smile.

We caught eyes and I shyly ran my fingers through my hair and gave a quick smile.

He floated towards me, extended his hand for mine and grazed his cherry lips across the back of my hand.

I could have melted that very moment.

One date led to the other and I knew he was the one.

Flowers, gifts, exotic dates. oh yeah. he knew how to treat a woman.

Tony and I grew fond of each other as every second passes on.

Like turning to lust which transformed into love. I was in love with Tony.

Time progressed, and things began to change.

Flirts turned to arguments.

Hugs turned into fist fights.

But this was nothing concealer and a few flowers couldn’t fix.

My best friend noticed the change saying, “I lost myself in him”

I defended him because I found someone who loved me.

Losing her as a friend was a sacrifice I took to defend my empire.

A baby later I learned that the man I loved did not belong to me.

Married with 3 and a half children, yes, his wife was married.

The love for this man blinded me for 3 years.

Why didn’t I just listen?

Something was wrong, but I was too blind to see

that the seductive monster I loved was not for me.
