Blink

Blink your eyes for me once again I say, and you look at me in confusion What should I be seeing? you ask You're a little girl, make up the best illusion Picture your favorite place Think only of the present Don't worry about the future (If I told her what I knew, I would surely lose her.) Run through the grass And barefoot over the gravel Don't worry about graduating from college Or your lifelong plans to travel See the smiles of your family Unaware of future trouble Seven years from now they will be gone There won't be other chances, not another Remember the world around you Then look me in the eyes and see The you the future holds and changes, The You is really Me
