The Blink of an Eye

A year is the blink of an eye

That sheds a tear,

That makes things clear.

A lot can change,

And stay the same.

As the eye opens

And sees the light

What once was a blur

Proves vivid and true.

Through a lens of foggy darkness,

A light shines through

Filling a vulnerable head

With a glimpse of hope.

And in that hope

There is me

Blinkng once,

A year lived free.
