IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE

Life changed in a blink of an eye for me

From paying for ice cream from the ice cream man

To paying some bills to keep me afoot

I went from having nap time in my class

To getting no sleep to finish all my work

I never thought about the future until it smacked me in the face

Now I’m hit with reality

Preparing for college and my future

Working to get some money in my pockets

Never did I think it was going to be hard

For the one subtle fact that I was living my childhood

Worry free

Until now because every choice I make will make or break my future
