Blood

I close my eyes and I see blood painting the sidewalk, the people walk by oblivious to the bodies they trample on, the dead cry out for justice.

what happened here? What massacre occurred in this peaceful town?

The innocent were slaughtered by the ignorant. Their blood wasted and no one cared.

Hate caused this, hate and fear of the unknown.

People will always hate what they don't know is what I’m told,

But could that change?

Could you be the change? Could I?

Wars stem from hate of what's different, skin color, religion, gender, sexual orientation.

We forget that we are all human that we all have the same blood.

No matter what god you believe in or what color your skin is or who you love,

If you cut us we will all bleed red.

So hate me, because I love differently than you do, because my skin is darker than yours, because my body is.

I will love you because we bleed the same,

cut me and may my blood show you that we are the same.

May they kill me, and may my blood cover the streets, unlike the blood of so many before me.

when people see my blood may they put down their weapons and cry,

May they realise they bleed like me.

We all bleed together, we all bleed the same color. May our hearts bleed for eachother.
