Blood Child

Hymns for the blood child

Rhymes sung to the one that holds the key

To this frigid palace.

For the husband king that loves

The womb--the only warmth that exists

Here, where the doors are locked

And chests are shut

But I am his Queen.

A kingdom with no princesses

Gasps silenced before they could form

Princes of blood and tangled string

With Sister ghosts of countless counts.
