Blood Thickness

They tell you

Blood is thicker than water,

Blood will never betray

And you believe this statement as long as possible

Why not?

In water you drown,

it consumes you within minutes,

thin, water easily overpowers you.

But blood?

Blood is worse, believe me or not.

Thick blood consumes you slowly,

Until you are enveloped and submerged.

Blood will suffocate you forever.

It is your biggest obstacle

Biggest critique

Blood will teach you to hate but never love

Once blood gets under your skin and into your head,

You are gone,

To a point of rare return

Over the edge

You feel unloved, never loved

What’s the meaning?

Life is a hierarchy,

At the bottom

I drown in own grief and sorrow

Merely hoping for an end

To find a light for tomorrow.

This is what blood does

It takes you to this point.

Blood holds your hand,

Guides you to the gates of death.

Blood does not say goodbye,

Because you are long overdue

A nuisance,

Nothing but a weight.

Blood pushes you through
Go on, never hesitate

Blood consumes you for a lifetime,

Hopes cease to exist,

A savior is too late,

Blood won,

Only to repent for what it has done.
