Bloodstained

Blood stained hands holding a butcher's knife
Raw emotions take yet, another life.
Tears flowing down his blood splattered face,
Sick with shame, he fell from grace.

Unable to keep his emotions under control
He prays for forgiveness on his blood filled soul.
Looking down at his wife, lifeless on the floor,
He doesn't know if he can go on anymore.

Her face relaxed, with unseeing eyes,
No longer judgmental of all his lies.
Removing the wedding ring from her hand,
Slowly he rises, beginning to stand.

Removing her high heels from her feet,
He covers her with a pale blue sheet.
All wrapped up, laying across his shoulder
Stopping at the shop, he can barely hold her.

Laying her on the table, he let out a sigh,
"So much work to be done, when they die"
He whispered under his icy breath,
Working quickly to hide his wife's death.

Her head then placed into the vice,
He plunged in and fired up his cutting device.
Head, arms, legs, hands, torso, and feet,
He wrapped separately, nice and neat.

A crazed man just chopped up his wife
After killing her with a butcher knife.

Placed her into trash bags and got in his van,
Passing the liquor store, and a news stand.
He turned left on the very next street,
In a dumpster behind the movies, he left her feet.

Five blocks up he left her hands,
In someone's unguarded trash can.
He went to the lake, in the water with her head
"You won't drown, you're already dead"

Laughing he drove to another town,
Up ten blocks, he drove around.
Dumpster behind a pizza place, holds her torso,
He left there, after a minute or so.

He threw her arms, and her legs in the woods,
Heading back home, he doesn't feel so good.
He is shaking, and soaking wringing wet,
His clothes stink, of death and sweat.
He pulls into his drive
Feeling only half alive.
Slowly he walks up the stairs
Realizing no one is there.

Stepping into a hot shower
Renewed his sense of power,
Washing the blood from his skin,
But not removing the bloodstain within.

Taking two Valium, whiskey in a glass
He waits for the visions to pass.
Sitting on the side of his bed,
A gun in his mouth, he blows off his head.

He's done now, there is no looking back
Everything dims, fading to black.
Blood splatters on pink satin sheets
The gun shot echoing out in the streets.
