bloody heart.

they say too much of anything can kill you

they forgot to mention

too little of what you need

suffocates you

they say we go for the love we think we deserve

they underestimated how easy

that is to become a belief

you blindly accepted

the universe of love is a balance of pain

covering yourself in the colors

of the galaxy

refusing to redefine the meaning

every time she touches you

painting you with the pigmented

you smile through the sound of broken bones

of shattering soul

and you wonder

if drowning in the pool of tears would cleanse you

no one wants a dirty soul

downing the liquid blue

burning every inch of flesh within you

spit, spill

nothing but the crimson blue acid

your pearls now stained

you thought

if death was the alternative ending

for this toxic love story

but she found you smiling

as she slid her digest around the blade

drawing out your soul

you lost your voice to the sound of her name

and you watched the world behind her lens

devouring in flames
