In Bloom

Because I love you

Bruises turn to flowers

Blue and purple fields of color

Irises in bloom

Trust is not given

But it is earned

My scars become more

Traces of lightning

Under your fingertips

History is futile

If no lesson is learned

I bring my pain to yours

Cancellation

What was once abused

Heals, regrowth

Like fire devastation

Harbors new life

This trust is new

Communication was fear

But no longer am I afraid

Open to a whirlwind of new

Tornadoes of conversation

Expression is hope

Sharing the past

Oysters open, emerge

The most beautiful pearls

Once lost now found

Because you love me

Apprehension turns to trust

Life holds new color

Love is in bloom
