In Bloom

-The sun shines ever so slightly on one singular patch of fertile earth in the wake of a season yielding milk and honey.

-There resides a new chapter, a lily amongst the gardens bursting with opportunity lifting it arms upwards in efforts to kiss the sky, there is longing in these petals and complexity in its color.

-Onlookers stand perplexed by its beauty, by its headstrong determination as if tender to the touch also means weak, as in synonymous with fragile, as in synonymous with almosts and maybes and not quites. Is the irony considered situational when onlookers label your dyer  situations as dramatic? As if the soil from which your roots reside have never stomached dry conditions.

-Why is it that onlookers expect my stem to be smoothed? Glossed to the brink of silence, and they stand mouths wide; full of shock when they pull back their bloodied hands( pause) stabbed by thorns.

-They say there’s so much more than meets the eye when really most of us should should be searching deeper than our mouths. I spread truth in a world filled with false love justly named lust. When you see my condition please don’t be filled with disgust; or do. You do you that’s what they say too, a tired and played out excuse.

-See God compels me to better my society, creating my own roads and repaving the broken ones I see.

-Understand that flowers are so strong , that they have the ability to break concrete and this lily is no exception, because I’ve got things to see.
