In Bloom

A happy daisy grew up from the earth

No longer worried with what was below

An awakening- a realization of true worth

The flower knew just how much she’d grown

No longer worried with what was below

The past is past- no need to exhume

The flower knew just how much she’d grown

The pain was what allowed for her to bloom

The past is past- no need to exhume

Though never forgetting the feeling of rain

The pain was what allowed for her to bloom

Not every perfect little petal remains

Though never forgetting the feeling of rain

The bite of winter- paralyzing cold

Not every perfect little petal remains;

Fallen petals leave room for new growth

The bite of winter- paralyzing cold

Knowing that warmth is drawing near

Fallen petals leave room for new growth-

Coming back stronger every year

Knowing that warmth is drawing near

An awakening- a realization of true worth

Coming back stronger every year,

A happy daisy grew up from the earth
