Blow Out

That time you blew out the candles in the middle of the night Kept me awake for every twelve past nine Closing the curtains like I’m not already scared Whispering more darkness into my ears Hiding under the covers, pressing every corner Can’t let you leak in like the monster you are That day you blew out the dandelions in the middle of the field Stole my wish for being real, I can’t even feel I wanted to fly away like the seedlings do Be born somewhere else away from you I wish to be free, get me off this leash You burned the seeds, why can’t the innocent just be free The time you threw a blow at me I stared into nothing as I leaked How did I not know to leave you that time I couldn’t stop bleeding, not when I bleed from my mind
