Blue

However, if blue skies were gone,

I think I'd miss them soon;

The darkest shade of midnight

And the light of afternoon.

It complements the sunshine,

A warm in fields of cool,

And suspends the stars and planets

In its deepest indigo pool.

Around the poles, within the blue,

Swim eels of aqua green

That glide about the mountaintops

And pierce the sky's marine.

Ancient, vast, and tranquil:

These are embodied shades of blue,

And in time, I think you'll find

It's more a feeling than a hue.
