Blue

The swirling of the world before you

when you wake up in the morning

and haven’t yet opened your eyes.

The robin’s egg

which is so fragile, so sweet

as it rests in its nest under the sunlight.

The excitement of a baby to come

decorating a nursery

awaiting the future sounds of its cries.

The crashing of an ocean wave

hitting the beach before you

and squinting from the sun behind it, too bright.

This is what it says to you

what it brings into your life

some recognize its beauty

others overlook the perfect sight.
