Blue
That color looks good on you,
the color that well suits you is blue.
That is what he tells me anyway,
he is the love of my life so I shall believe him.
Tea Cake is different,
different than the last two.
I am ready to take another leap of faith,
so off to Jacksonville I go.
We will marry in the color blue,
it is the color that I believe is symbolic of our love.
We will live a happy life together,
And the happy life will last, I hope.
Tea Cake wants to give me the world,
and I am ready to let him.
We will re-start our lives
at the words of “I do.”
Despite the warning words of many,
including my bosom friend Pheoby,
Tea Cake is a good honest man.
I love him as much as the seas are blue.
Tomorrow we will say “I do.”
Our lives will forever be a bee on a blossom.
Preferably a blue blossom,
as that color is the symbol of our love.
