Blue

I'm clean and I'm sober.

I'm one of the good kids it seems.

But you can't judge what you can't see.

I may not party.

My grades are alright.

But you don't see what I race home to at night.

Under black polish,

my nails are blue.

You don't know what I'm capable of.

You don't know what I'd do

to be just like you,

to be one of the good kids.

My piss smells of Synedrex,

hipbones black and blue.

My whole body prickles and shivers

for sharp metal blades - shiny and new.

And I'm keeping it together

Just like you.

I look serene and composed,

but my nailbeds are blue.

I'm from South Dakota and I love poetry. In every spare moment I am composing lines to new works in my head, and I am always working to gain inspiration from everything around me. I play the piano, guitar, ukulele, banjo, and percussion. I love to draw and I love anything that involves zombies. Someday I will see the world.
