Blue

Blue. The color of the endless sky which we look to each day, the color of flowers blooming, the color of bird eggs hatching, cars driving down the highway. Blue represents many things but to me it represents love and loss. The last Easter I spent with my cousin was such a happy time. I remember hiding eggs for the little kids and talking to my relatives who I haven't seen in forever. Pictures were taken and memories were made but I remember that day because of the hues of blue surrounding everything. Everywhere you look blue here and there reminding me how beautiful life is. Many months later my life changed. It was a happy day;bright blue sky, birds soaring in the air, the leaves were falling and the air was crisp. I lay in my room listening to joyful music and playing a game. Then my dad walks in, tears on his face, he tells me to come to the living room with my brother and sister. I sit confused on the couch as I watch him sit in the chair near me gathering his words. My cousin was gone because of an accident. As I hysterically burst into tears he held me close telling me it'd be okay but from that day blue is the only thing I can remember about Quintin.

I'm 15, I live in Tennessee and I like to write and draw. I have anxiety and depression which is usually my subject of writing and my inspiration to help others. I'm pretty young but I have dreams like everyone else. Enjoy.
